Root canal treatment is indicated when a nerve inside a tooth is inflamed due to an acute or chronic infection. When the root of tooth becomes damaged, it is important to start root canal therapy immediately in order to save the tooth and prevent you from further problems associated with infection and missing teeth.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT AN APPOINTMENT
⦁ Root canals are most often done in two appointments 1.5 hours each.
⦁ Initial visit will involve x – rays, local anesthetic to numb the tooth, cleaning of the root from infection and application of medicine in the canal.
⦁ Second visit will include final cleaning and filling of the canals with the natural rubber materials and restoring the tooth.
⦁ In some teeth, crowns are strongly recommended after root canal treatment to prevent the tooth from further breakdown, preserve its appearance and function.
