Root canal treatment is indicated when a nerve inside a tooth is inflamed due to an acute or chronic infection. ⦁ Root canals are most often done in two appointments 1.5 hours each.
⦁ Initial visit will involve x – rays, local anesthetic to numb the tooth, cleaning of the root from infection and application of medicine in the canal.
⦁ Second visit will include final cleaning and filling of the canals with the natural rubber materials and restoring the tooth.
⦁ In some teeth, crowns are strongly recommended after root canal treatment to prevent the tooth from further breakdown, preserve its appearance and function.
